Acupuncture
Acupuncture may help manage a range of physical and emotional health concerns. It may help to relieve pain from musculoskeletal injuries, joint conditions, postural strain, headaches, jaw pain, and neurological symptoms like numbness.
Acupuncture treatment may also be used to support digestion function and reduce symptoms of stress related to anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance
Acupuncture may help reduce menstrual symptoms, and PMS and can play a role in managing PCOS, endometriosis, and optimising fertility.
It’s also commonly used during pregnancy as part of a labour preparation plan
What is acupuncture?
Traditional view
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, single use needles at strategic points on the body. This technique is a key component of Chinese medicine.
Acupuncture as a technique for manipulating the flow of energy (Qi), blood and fluids throughout the body to restore balance and harmony, to remove blockages and affect positive change on the body, mind and spirit.
Modern explanation
In contrast, modern research explains that acupuncture can stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue.

Acupuncture can effect blood flow, inflammatory mechanisms and pain pathways within the body
Combining the two
I use both traditional and modern systems of explanation to guide my practice and style of acupuncture to ensure safe and appropriate practice.
Applying modern medical knowledge to the traditional acupuncture system amplifies the powerful effects of acupuncture and deepens the understanding of its mechanisms

Our philosophy
Purpose
To empower your healing journey with personalised, integrative care—combining traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine for real, lasting results. My goal is to help you feel better, live well, and thrive.
Why
Maine Wellness grew from a frustration with disconnected care. I saw too many people feeling unheard or boxed in. I’m here to offer a different path—one that listens, respects, and supports the whole you. A healing pathway that combines ancient wisdom and modern knowledge.
Approach
I combine evidence-based treatment with the art of healing. From acupuncture and herbal medicine to nutrition and lifestyle support, I tailor care to your needs—working alongside your current medical team. This is the foundation of integrative healthcare: a coordinated approach that blends conventional medicine with complementary therapies, addressing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
Belief
Healing is empowering and it is an ongoing process throughout life. Every time we sleep, we heal ourselves! I believe in our body’s own ability to heal when supported holistically, by the right people and the right environment.

What is Electro-acupuncture?
Electro-acupuncture applies a mild electrical current to acupuncture needles after insertion, enhancing the effects of traditional acupuncture.
I practice a style called Neuropuncture, a neuroscience-based acupuncture system. The treatment lasts approximately 20 minutes, while you relax. During your consultation, we can determine if manual acupuncture or electroacupuncture is best for you.

Acupuncture is often combined with remedial massage for best results.
