Herbal medicine
Herbal medicine may help manage symptoms related to the skin, digestion, sleep, and emotional wellbeing. Herbs works by supporting whatever system or organ is out of balance and bringing in back into harmony through the therapeutic properties of the herbs.

Herbs can also assist with hormonal health, including menstrual symptoms, fertility, and menopause, as well as men’s health and fertility.
Additionally, some herbs may help reduce inflammation and some symptoms related to chronic illness, such as fatigue, stress and sleep disturbance.
What is herbal medicine?
Chinese herbal medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine uses the medicinal properties of nature. There are more than 300 herbs used in Chinese medicine.

Most are of plant origin, though some animal and mineral substances may also be used. Some herbs you may find in your garden or local grocer, such as ginger and cinnamon, while other substances are grown or cultivated specifically for use in herbal medicine prescriptions.
A herbal formula
A typical herbal formula contains 8-15 different herbs combined together to create a synergistic effect. Each individual is different and so each formula will be different.
You may be required to take the formula for only a short period of time, for example, if you have a flu or an acute injury. However, if you have a longer term condition, you may need to take the herbal formula for a few months or longer to experience positive change
Herbs & regulation
I mostly use plant and mineral products. Animal derived products are not used, or are used very sparingly, for example oster shell
Endangered animal products or plant species are never used. All products prescribed are approved by the TGA and purchased from trusted suppliers like The Herb Grove.
I will discuss your recommended formula with you during your consult
Supplements & Neutraceuticals
I also prescribe other nutraceuticals and therapeutic grade supplements, which may be better suited to your needs, as herbs do not suit everyone.

Sometimes a combination of herbs and supplements can be used in tandem

Telehealth consults are available for an individualised treatment plan and prescription if you cant make it to the clinic in person.
